Peradeniya Botanical Gardens

How to get to Kandy from Colombo by train

Take a train from Colombo Fort Station to Kandy, the journey lasts approximately 3 hours and 17 minutes and would cost you around Rs 380 for first-class seats (which will guarantee you a seat).

How to get to Kandy from Colombo by bus

There are regular bus services from the main bus station in Colombo Bastian Mawatha Bus terminal to Kandy (bus no.1). The journey takes approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes and costs around Rs 190 in a normal bus.

How to get to Kandy from Colombo by taxi

You can also arrange a private vehicle and driver to take you. This is the fastest by the most expensive way to travel. It will take approximately 2 hours and 6 minutes from Colombo to Kandy, which will cost you around Rs 11000- Rs 16000.
