HOW TO GET TO BENTOTA FROM COLOMBO
How to get to Bentota from Colombo by train
You could take the train from Colombo fort to Bentota on a daily basis, where trains are available in the morning and evening where you can get off from the Aluthgama station and take a taxi or a tuktuk to Bentota which would cost around Rs.100 or Rs.200 depending where your final destination is. The journey would last for 1 hour and 30 minutes and cost you Rs 200 for second-class (which will most of the time guarantee you a seat).
How to get to Bentota from Colombo by bus
From Colombo Bastian Mawatha Bus terminal you could hop into a luxury AC bus (route 2 – 3) which goes to Aluthgama (which will cost Rs 130, and take around 2.5 hours), and from Aluthgama, you could take a taxi or a tuktuk which will cost you around Rs 100 depending on where your accommodation is.
How to get to Bentota from Colombo by taxi
You can also arrange a private vehicle and driver to take you via a rental car or use one of the apps named Uber or Pick me (Sri Lankan Uber). This is the fastest but most expensive way to travel. It will take approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes from Colombo to Bentota assuming you take the Expressway, if you do take the normal route it would take approximately 2.5 hours. The ride would cost you around Rs 8000 – Rs 12000.
